How we work

Where the data comes from

Official public registers across Australia and New Zealand:

• Australian business name registers, published weekly.
• Australian company and entity registers.
• The Australian Business Register, used to confirm entity type, GST status, state and postcode.
• The New Zealand Companies Office register, for NZ business registrations and company details.

We use this data under applicable open data licences. Our attribution is carried in every briefing and on this site. We are not affiliated with any government body, and we never present ourselves as one.

How fresh it is

The registers drop weekly. We ingest them with a safety lookback so nothing is missed. A new business reaches your briefing within a few days of registering. We do not claim a same-day or 24-hour feed, because the source data does not support one.

How leads are classified and scored

Each new registration is classified into an industry taxonomy using automated tools with human review. Only high-confidence classifications are included in your briefings.

The readiness score runs from 0 to 100, built from publicly available signals:

• GST registration, indicating intended turnover.
• Company structure rather than sole trader.
• A live website already up.
• Other signals from the public record.

Each business appears only once per category. If material changes occur after initial listing, we flag what changed.

Contact details, and the line we hold

On the Solo and Pro plans we record publicly available contact information where a business has chosen to publish it on its own website. We honour robots.txt and only fetch pages the business has made public. A blank field means either no published contact details were found, or we have not yet checked.

We do not buy contact data from brokers. We do not construct or infer contact details. We do not publish personal information that a business has not published itself. Most new registrations have no website at all, so most rows carry nothing — we would rather show you an empty field than a guess.

You are responsible for complying with applicable anti-spam and privacy legislation when contacting businesses from this data.

Corrections and removals

If a listing is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. If you run a listed business and would rather not appear in briefings, use the removal form and we will suppress it across the product within a month.
