What CompaniesIQ does better

  • There is a free tier, and it covers the core of what the product does rather than being a trial.
  • Companies House data is richer at the point of registration than ASIC's — officers, registered office and SIC codes all arrive with the incorporation.

What JustRegistered does differently

  • Australian coverage, which CompaniesIQ does not offer.
  • A readiness score and GST confirmation, so a week's registrations arrive already triaged.
  • A briefing that is sent to you, on the cadence you choose, rather than a database you have to remember to open.

Choose CompaniesIQ if

You sell into the United Kingdom and want to spend nothing. A free UK product beats a paid Australian one for a UK job, every time.

What JustRegistered is for

One question: which businesses registered in Australia this week, in the industry you sell to, and which of them look ready to buy. Every registration is classified into one of twenty industries, checked against official public registers for entity type and GST status, and scored from 0 to 100 by a published method — no black box.

What it is not: a contact database. We do not sell phone numbers or email addresses. A business registered last week rarely has either published, sole-trader details are personal information under the Privacy Act, and the Spam Act prohibits sending to harvested-address lists. Where a business has a live public website, we link it.

Built on Australian Government open data: ASIC Business Names register and ABR, used under CC BY 3.0 AU.

Questions

Does CompaniesIQ cover Australian companies?

No. CompaniesIQ is built on Companies House and covers UK companies. For Australian registrations it is not a cheaper alternative — it holds none of the data.

CompaniesIQ has a free tier. Does JustRegistered?

Yes, permanently and without a card. The free plan gives five results a search, three days behind the paid feed, across every industry in the register. It is limited on purpose: it is meant to show you what the data looks like before you decide.

If CompaniesIQ is free, why pay for JustRegistered?

Only because you are selling to Australian businesses. If your market is the UK, a free UK product is the better answer and we would say so. The comparison is about which country's register you need, not which is cheaper.

What is in JustRegistered that a Companies House product cannot have?

GST registration status and ABN enrichment, both confirmed against the Australian Business Register, and a readiness score built on Australian signals. GST registration on day one is the single strongest indicator that a new Australian business expects real turnover, and there is no Companies House field that carries the same meaning.

How current is each?

Companies House publishes daily, so UK products can be a day or two behind an incorporation. ASIC publishes the business names register weekly, typically on Wednesdays, so a new Australian business reaches us within days to a week. We do not claim a same-day feed, because the source data does not support one.

A real sample briefing, with the scoring shown. The free plan is permanent after that: five results a search, three days behind the paid feed, no card.
