JustRegistered vs KnowFirst

An Australian B2B database of around 3M company profiles, sold on credits: you spend a credit to reveal contact and company detail. Here is how the two line up, including where KnowFirst is the better choice.

What KnowFirst does better

  • A permanent free tier with 20 credits, no card required.
  • Verified contact data, tech stack, marketing and SEO data, trademarks and tender history — none of which we hold.
  • Zapier and packaged CRM integrations from their Starter plan. Ours is a signed webhook you wire up yourself, and their API is on a plan below our Pro.
  • Prospect and competitor tracking across their whole 3M-company database. Our watchlist monitors ABNs you nominate against the register, which is a narrower thing.

What JustRegistered does differently

  • New registrations as the product. KnowFirst tracks companies you nominate; it is not built to tell you who registered last week that you have never heard of.
  • A flat $29 a month with no credit accounting. Their Starter plan is $720 a year for 2,400 credits, and a credit is spent per reveal.
  • A readiness score, and GST status on every row.
  • A briefing that arrives on its own, on the cadence you choose.

Choose KnowFirst if

You want depth on companies you already know about, or you need contact details, and you are comfortable buying credits. Their free tier is a genuinely good way to find out.

What JustRegistered is for

One question: which businesses registered in Australia this week, in the industry you sell to, and which of them look ready to buy. Every registration is classified into one of twenty industries, checked against official public registers for entity type and GST status, and scored from 0 to 100 by a published method — no black box.

What it is not: a contact database. We do not sell phone numbers or email addresses. A business registered last week rarely has either published, sole-trader details are personal information under the Privacy Act, and the Spam Act prohibits sending to harvested-address lists. Where a business has a live public website, we link it.

Built on Australian Government open data: ASIC Business Names register and ABR, used under CC BY 3.0 AU.

Questions

What is the main difference?

KnowFirst is a database you search, priced in credits you spend per reveal. JustRegistered is a briefing that arrives, priced flat. If your work is researching companies you already have names for, that is KnowFirst. If it is finding out who appeared this week, that is us.

How does credit pricing compare to a flat $29?

KnowFirst's published Starter plan is A$720 a year for 2,400 credits, about A$60 a month at A$0.30 a credit. JustRegistered Solo is A$29 a month with no credits and no per-row cost — you see every matching registration in your industry and states, as often as you like.

Does KnowFirst track new business registrations?

Partially. It offers prospect and competitor tracking with notifications when a tracked company changes, which is a different thing: you have to know about the business before you can track it. New registrations are by definition ones you have not heard of.

Does KnowFirst have an API?

Yes, on its Professional plan at a published A$3,600 a year. We have one too, on Pro at A$708 a year, documented at /api/docs. Theirs reaches a 3M-company database; ours reaches new registrations, which is a much narrower dataset. Compare what you need to read, not the price of access.

Which has the better free tier?

They are different shapes. KnowFirst gives 20 credits, permanently, which you spend once. Ours gives five results per search, forever, three days behind the paid feed, with no total cap on how many searches you run. Neither needs a card.

Can I get contact details from JustRegistered?

Only what a business publishes itself. On Solo and Pro we read the business's own website and record the phone, email and social profiles shown there. KnowFirst sells verified, credit-priced emails and phone numbers with far better coverage. Ours is free of credits and free of guesswork, but a new registration often has no website at all, so expect blanks.
